Session 5
From the quiz I have found out that my leadership style is Authoritative from both the general and Daniel Goleman leadership style.
Authoritative Leadership Style (Visionary)
The authoritative leadership style, also known as the visionary style, is one of the six leadership styles identified by Daniel Goleman. This style is characterized by the ability to inspire and mobilize people toward a common vision or goal. Authoritative leaders provide clear direction, set high standards, and motivate their team by making them feel they are part of something larger. The key phrase for this style is “Come with me,” reflecting the leader's ability to guide and inspire their team.
Authoritative leaders excel at defining and communicating a clear vision that aligns with organizational objectives. They offer firm direction and useful feedback, which helps in motivating team members and fostering an environment of trust and respect. This approach drives engagement and productivity while empowering team members to take initiative and develop their skills, contributing to the overall success of the team.
To further enhance the authoritative leadership style, it is beneficial to integrate elements from other styles to address diverse team needs and situations. Regular informal check-ins can help gather feedback and understand how the leadership style is working for the team. Additionally, implementing a 360-degree feedback system can create a culture of open communication and continuous improvement. By balancing firm direction with empathy and support, authoritative leaders can maintain a positive and productive work environment that drives the team toward shared goals.
